Key Features & Unique Structure

RRegional Leagues are the beating heart of Lazy Football. Here, we use an innovative, accessible system: 32 parallel Division 1 (D1) leagues right from the start. Each D1 league is a true analogue of a national championship, ensuring that every region has its own top division — and that any ambitious club can pursue top honors from the very beginning.

Thanks to this structure, the journey from the Amateur Conference to the Champions League can take just several seasons. Every season presents a real opportunity for both new and established clubs to quickly compete at the highest level, keeping the game exciting, dynamic, and open to fresh talent.

Season Flow & Promotion

• Match Days: Each season in the Regional Leagues consists of 30 match days.

• Promotion: The top 64 teams from the Amateur Conference are promoted to D1 (while only D1 exists).

• Relegation: The bottom 2 teams from each D1 division are relegated back to the Amateur Conference each season.

• Dynamic Growth: As new divisions launch, promotion/relegation expands and adapts to fit the pyramid — giving everyone a chance at progress.

Vertical & Horizontal Rotation

After each season, teams are reshuffled to keep the competition fresh:

• Vertical rotation determines which teams move up or down the league pyramid (promotion and relegation based on results).

• Horizontal rotation means that teams promoted or relegated can be assigned to any suitable regional league in their new division, not just the one closest to their previous opponents. This ensures new rivalries and diverse competition every year.

Qualification for Champions League & Contenders League

Success in Regional Leagues is your gateway to the biggest competitions:

• The top 2 teams in each D1 league qualify for the next season’s Champions League — the most prestigious tournament with the largest rewards.

• The 3rd and 4th placed teams qualify for the Contenders League, which also offers significant prizes and elite competition.

Every season, all clubs have a real chance to climb the ladder and earn their place among the game’s best — no matter where they started!

Structure & Format

• 32 Regional Leagues (D1), each with 16 teams, totaling 512 D1 clubs.

• Each D1 league’s name combines a cardinal direction (Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western) and one of eight regions: Jungland, Forestland, Iceland, Riversland, Lakesland, Sandland, Windsland, or Mountainland.

• Season: 30 match days, double round-robin (home and away against every other club).

Tie-breakers

If two or more teams finish the season with the same number of points, final league positions are determined by the following criteria, in order:

1. Points earned

2. Goal difference

3. Goals scored

4. Number of wins

5. Fair play ranking (fewest yellow/red cards; 1 red = 2 yellow)

6. Power11 (lowest sum of top 11 players wins)

In every D1 league, individual player achievements are rewarded with direct skill point bonuses at the end of the season. These bonuses encourage attacking play and recognize the league’s most impactful players. Each division maintains its own set of detailed statistics, which you can view at any time during the season.
