Seasons and Regional Leagues

  • Season Duration: Each season currently lasts up to 2 months. In Regional Championships and the Amateur Conference, teams play 30 match days. Finalists in the Contenders Cup can play up to 21 additional matches depending on their progress. The off-season period typically lasts from 3 to 10 days, depending on updates and maintenance. In the future, we plan to standardize these intervals for greater predictability.

  • Regional League Structure: Lazy Football is built on a pyramid league system with three planned division levels: Division 1 (D1), Division 2 (D2), and Division 3 (D3).

    • Currently, the game features only 32 D1 divisions.

    • When the number of active clubs surpasses 1,536, 64 D2 divisions will be introduced (split into 32 1D2 and 32 2D2).

    • When clubs exceed 3,584, 128 D3 divisions will appear (32 each of 1D3, 2D3, 3D3, and 4D3).

    • No further divisions are planned — all remaining teams will play in the Amateur Conference.

  • Divisional Promotion and Relegation: At the end of each season, the bottom 2 teams in each D1 division are relegated to the Amateur Conference, replaced by two randomly selected clubs from the Amateur top 64. Once D2 is launched, 4 more teams from each D1 (places 11–14) will play relegation playoffs with teams ranked 2–3 in D2; a similar system will be used for D2/D3 rotation.

  • Domestic Leagues Expansion. As more managers join, the league structure expands automatically to create more divisions and opportunities.

Tournaments

  • Amateur Conference: All new managers begin here, playing by the “Swiss system”. The top performers are promoted to Regional Leagues after the first season.

  • Regional Championships: Each team plays a full season in their division, facing every opponent home and away.

  • Champions League: For elite teams that finish 1st and 2nd in their region; features League phase, play-offs, and finals.

  • Contenders League: For teams finishing 3rd and 4th in their regional championship, with rules similar to the Champions League.

  • League Cups: Planned for the future after D2 is launched. Will include knockout tournaments with teams from the same region.

  • Custom Tournaments: Admin-run tournaments are already implemented, and in the future, players will be able to organize their own.

  • Friendly Matches: Play unlimited free matches at any time for practice and fun — no fatigue, no injuries, and no impact on your progression.

Path to the Top Competitions

  • Champions League: Top 2 teams in each Regional Championship qualify for the next season’s Champions League.

  • Contenders League: Teams finishing 3rd and 4th qualify for the Contenders League.

Club Rating System

The Club Rating in Lazy Football determines direct entry to the main stages of the major tournaments each season. This rating is based on each team’s performance over the last five seasons.

For both the Champions League (for teams finishing 1st or 2nd in their Regional Championship) and the Contenders League (for teams finishing 3rd or 4th), the top 8 teams by club rating (over the previous 5 seasons) are granted direct access to the League Phase. All other qualified teams must compete in the Qualification Phase.

In the first season, ratings are determined by performance in the Amateur Conference. In the second season, the results from the Regional Championships are used. From the third season onward, club ratings are calculated based on team performance in the Champions League and Contenders League. This system ensures that consistent success is rewarded with easier access to the most prestigious competitions.

Seasonal Structure & Awards

  • Award System: At the end of each season, teams receive rewards for their achievements in the previous season, motivating continued participation and competition.

  • Current Rewards: Starting from Season 6, prizes are now awarded only in LAZY and Scout Insights, shifting the focus toward in-game assets and player crafting materials.

  • Future System: Beginning with Season 7, we plan to introduce rewards in the form of reward packs with a set expiration date (expected to be 30 days). If a manager fails to open the pack within this period, the reward will expire and be lost.
