🦥13.2. Amateur Conference: Pathway to Regional Leagues

Format & Participation

  • Unlimited Teams: Any number of teams can join the Amateur Conference — this is the main entry point for all new managers in Lazy Football.

  • Swiss System: The tournament follows the Swiss system. On Match Day 1, pairs are formed by matching teams of similar Power11 from all registered participants. From Match Day 2 onwards, teams are paired according to their current position in the standings. No two teams can face each other more than once per season.

  • Season Length: Amateur Conference runs for 30 match days, synchronized with the Regional Leagues.

  • New Teams: All new clubs in Lazy Football automatically join the Amateur Conference and are included in the draw for the next match day.

  • Points: Standard football points system applies (3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss). The standings update after every round.

Standings & Tiebreakers

Final standings are determined using these criteria, in order:

  1. Points earned (more is better)

  2. Number of matches played (fewer is better, to reward late-joining teams who excel)

  3. Goal difference

  4. Goals scored

  5. Number of wins

  6. Fair play ranking (fewest yellow/red cards; 1 red = 2 yellow)

  7. Power11 rating (lower total Power11 is better)

Promotion & League Advancement

  • Fast Track to D1: At the end of each season, the top 64 teams from the Amateur Conference are promoted to Division 1 (while only D1 exists).

  • Expansion When New Divisions Launch: When Division 2 (D2) is introduced, the top 64 teams from the Amateur Conference move up to D1, and the next 1,024 top-performing teams are randomly assigned to D2 divisions. When Division 3 (D3) launches, the same principle applies: after vertical rotation and play-offs between D2 and D3, the best remaining Amateur Conference teams fill the new D3 slots.

  • Initial Qualifier: In Season 1, the Amateur Conference served as the main qualifier for creating the Regional Leagues. The first 512 teams entered D1.

  • Ongoing Promotion & Play-offs: In subsequent seasons, the bottom two teams from each higher division are directly relegated and replaced by the top-1 teams from the division below. Teams finishing 11th–14th in a higher division enter promotion/relegation play-offs with the 2nd–3rd placed teams from the lower division. This ensures constant movement and fair competition throughout the league pyramid as the game community grows.

Rewards

  • Teams earn LAZY, Scout Insights, and individual player bonuses based on performance, mirroring the reward logic in Regional Leagues, though on a smaller scale.

  • Top performers not only secure promotion but also enjoy valuable in-game rewards.

LAZY Rewards Distribution:

Each season, 150 million LAZY is distributed among the top 512 teams in the Amateur Conference, proportional to the points each club earns. The leading teams typically receive around 1 million LAZY. This structure ensures that both new and ambitious managers have real incentives to compete and progress.

Scout Insights Distribution:

Each season in the Amateur Conference, a total of 1,642 Scout Insights are distributed among the top 100 teams, based on their final standings (see the full breakdown above). This system rewards consistent performance and encourages all clubs to aim for the top spots.
